Sacred poets, past and present, encourage us to find God in the bits and pieces of everyday life.
Take time out to explore how poetry speaks the language of the heart and best expresses the soul’s longings.
Spend a day with the sacred poets and find inspiration and sustenance for your own spiritual journey.
Throughout the day with poems as our guides we will listen, speak, walk, reflect, and write from the heart.
The texts of the poems will be provided and no prior experience of poetry or writing poetry is needed.
It doesn’t have to be
the blue iris, it could be
weeds in a vacant lot, or a few
small stones; just
pay attention, then patch
a few words together and don’t try
to make them elaborate, this isn’t
a contest but the doorway
into thanks, and a silence in which
another voice may speak.
