Holocaust Memorial Day 2020 With Thérèse Fitzgerald
January 28 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pmAdmission Free
Theme: We Stand Together
28 January 2020 | 7.30-9.00pm
We stand together to learn from our past … to mark the Holocaust and other genocides … to remember those who suffered and died …
We stand together in exploring our own learnings from the past and how our choices might offer more light in the world.
We stand together in discovering what it means to really stand together in our world today.
January 27 is the day for everyone to remember the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust, and the millions of people killed under Nazi Persecution, and in the genocides which followed in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia, and Darfur. We are delighted to announce a special series reflecting on Jewish-Christian relations as we commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day and the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. As we remember we must commit to learning why and how this happened, so that we can never allow it to happen again.
This is a very special opportunity to learn and deepen our awareness of the rich mutual heritage we share, and we invite all people of faith and of compassion to come and be part of this series.
Thérèse Fitzgerald is a member of the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Sion. In her work as a counsellor she facilitates people in their personal development and integration. Her other key involvement is in Biblical studies and she holds an MA in this field. She offers a supportive environment in which participants can engage with, and find meaning in, the Biblical texts. She is especially interested in how engagement with the text enhances personal insight and how this, in turn, nourishes relationships with others and with God.
