DESCRIPTION:Summer in Glasnevin #2: Wednesday\, 9 September | 7.00 -8.00pm \nTour of Convent Chapel \nTour of convent chapel and optional extra tour of Glasnevin House\, Georgian rooms. Offers a two-part insight into the architectural highlights of the convent in Glasnevin \nPart One: Duration approx. 30 minutes\, showcases the work of Dublin craftsmen around 1900 when the convent chapel was built. We see the work of sculptors\, picture-framers\, wood-carvers\, stained-glass window artists\, and are let into the subterfuge designed to make the paintings of the Stations of the Cross look older than they were. \nPart Two: is an optional extra for those who have not visited the Georgian building\, built c. 1750. We see the breathtaking plaster-work of the ceilings in the reception rooms\, the original timber floors\, and the magnificent staircase.

Using his own words\, we see how he gathered supporters to found the Society and unfold the spirituality of this extraordinary man whose influence is still felt throughout the world.
