An opportunity to engage with our earliest faith story and its core practices of social justice in our contemporary context.
Dr Johnston McMaster is a native of Co Down and an ordained minister of the Methodist Church in Ireland. Parish appointments were in West Cork, Wicklow and North Belfast. He was involved in youth work for thirteen years before joining the staff of the Irish School of Ecumenics, Trinity College Dublin. He directed the ISE Education for Reconciliation programme in Northern Ireland and border counties. He designed and co-delivered the Ethical and Shared Remembering programme with the Junction in Derry/Londonderry and co-designed and delivered the recent ISE programme of civic conversations and education Is There A Common Good?
Publications include A Passion for Justice : Social Ethics in the Celtic Tradition, Overcoming Violence and Democracy Matters : Beyond Religious Nationalism to Just Politics. He is Adjunct Assistant Professor with the Irish School of Ecumenics, Trinity College Dublin, and a member of the Council of State of the President of Ireland.
